I don't know about you but I LOVE a maxi dress during the warmer seasons. It gives the feel of wearing a gown yet it's still casual and reminds me of those old Hollywood movies where those gorgeous actresses would lay around in the most stunning floor sweeping dresses *sigh*. You can wear a maxi dress with flip flops, heels, even sneakers, but my FAVE way to wear them is a mix between casual...and almost dressed up. You know those days when a friend asks you at the last minute to meet her to do a cake and wine tasting for her upcoming wedding? (She shall remain nameless LOL). Well, this is the perfect look! People treat you differently when you look well put together..trust me on this one :-)

HEAR ME ROAR
Hola CHICsters, so I survived Memorial Weekend in ATL *wipes forehead* LOL. This weekend was Atlanta Carnival, not the kind with the Ferris wheel; but a Caribbean parade of happy people from islands such as Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados, Dominica, and the U.S. Virgin Islands dancing down the road with beautifully colored costumes. There are too many countries to list all if you have never experienced a Carnival before, I HIGHLY recommend it! This outfit is what I wore to supposedly meet my mom, aunt and brother for brunch, but we decided to eat at home and crack jokes instead :-)
I love ALL THINGS LEOPARD, but of course you cant wear it from head to toe (I've tried) No Bueno! These pants are Rachel Roy Summer 2012 collection. I live them because it has an elastic waist which is perfect for people like me who always plan to watch what they eat...but seldom does that happen :-)
This Dooney and Bourke bag was the perfect summery accent for the look, plus the size is great for moms with young kids. I can fit two complete outfits, learning tablets, and sanitizing products in there without taking away from my necessities...like lotion *dry skin issues*
Excuse my brother's rental in the background, it was a busy day Haha. A coral tank, coral sandals from Cole Haan, and my go-to beige boyfriend blazer from Urban Outfitters pulled this whole look together.
Hope you all enjoyed your Memorial Weekend &
Have a CHICtastic Week

TANGERINE DREAM
Ok so it's I truly feel like I live in HOTLANTA! I overslept because my son decided it was too cold and turned down the AC causing me to be in a deep sleep wayyy past the time I should've been up. And did I forget to tell you that I also woke up with a mane that only King Mufasa would be proud of *YIKES*. So a french braid, and maxi skirt later I was ready to face the great outdoors.
I actually only really started wearing bright colors recently. Caribbean people as well as Latin people LOVE COLORS. It's a proven fact!! LOL. Come to any one of my family functions and you will be welcomed by a bunch of smiling people wearing tons of color...and gold jewelry :-)
I bought this skirt last summer, but only popped the tag off today. Maxi skirts are kind of my go-to in the summer along with cut-off shorts. The tangerine color of this pleated skirt is a great pop for the summers when you have that good tan (which clearly I was born with) LOL. The three layers give the skirts a lot of movement and makes it a definite head turner as you walk by.
I found this turquoise handbag while GoodWill Hunting a few weeks ago, and was immediately drawn to the color, size, and the fact that it can be worn as both a cross-body (freeing up your hands for times when you have to cross the street with a 4 and 5yr old #MYLife) or as a clutch when you remove the strap *score*.
Paired with these Tory Burch thong sandals in the same tangerine color balances out the whole look.
Quick look to stay cool during the warmer weather. I really don't care for anything form fitting in the daytime because it just gets too hot and ain't nobody got time for that... LOL
Stay CHIC and enjoy the rest of your week!
(only cool people rhyme for no apparent reason)

STUD MUFFIN
Ok CHICsters, this was actually supposed to be my post from yesterday but I had major technical difficulties..thought I deleted all of my blog content (YIKES). But after an almost meltdown, followed by some great help from a friend, all is well in Bloggerville :-)
This is just my typical weekend look, as is most of us during warmer weather. A basic striped tee and denim cutoff shorts (being sold soon in my ETSY shop) gets dressed up with my new favorite sandals from Zara that I said before would be in HEAVY rotation LOL. Also, notice this gorgeous blue tote that a picture just can't do justice..
Round sunnies are what's HOT for this summer, and these gradient lens pair stole my heart.
Hand distressed and studded vintage high waist denim will come in handy for beach visits, hanging out in the city, or just hitting the town with your friends.
Have a CHICtastic day

NAUTICAL CHIC
TGIF! This week was quite hectic for me with the kids having tons of activities in school as their last day here is May 22nd. I don't ever remember getting out of school that early. Geez! Can't believe I'm already planning out my summer and it's still spring. But nonetheless, we made it to another weekend, YAYYY! Hopefully the weather is warm and the skies stay clear so you can enjoy two days of bliss before Monday rolls back around again..blah. In this NAUTICAL CHIC look, I love the bold stripes especially in a black & white, or navy & white combo. It looks great in clothing, accessories, home decor etc. and reminds me of hanging out lakeside with friends talking about everything and a whole lot of nothing LOL. The red shorts gives it the right pop of color while the scalloped edges gives it a feminine touch. Paired with updated basics like a color-block tote, leather band watch, and easy ankle strap sandals it's a CHIC way to look dressed up...when you're really dressed down.
Get this go-to look and have a CHICtastic weekend!

ROCK N ROLL
Hola CHICsters *waves* I'm so excited to share with you my latest CHIC Find, these FAB "Valentino Rockstudish" pumps that I got from the clearance rack at JC Penney. Pumps from the Valentino Rockstud line ranges from these HERE for $795 to as much as these HERE for $1075 *side eye*, I don't know about you all but the way my account is set up... LOL. I'm all for looking CHIC and well put together, but if I can get the look for less, I'm all for it!
Pairing my awesome EMILIA Pumps (that will be in heavy rotation) with white jeans, a printed tee, denim moto vest, and a black fringe bag gave me a Rock n Roll , biker chic look.
As soon as I saw this "It Girl" tee I knew it would be perfect for the upcoming seasons.
I actually found this moto vest while Goodwill Hunting!! Chic Find indeed!
I love the fit of Joe's Jeans. Sometimes it get's difficult trying to find the right jeans for my body type. Being curvy has it's pros and cons, the pros are evident :-) the cons are some designers don't make a fit for us. Either there isn't enough give or stretch in the fabric, or the rise is just too low. That plumber crack that I see far too many women have when they sit is just NOT a good look. Proper fit is key!
Closer look at my babies. Love the contrast of the tan trim against the black patent leather finish.
Studded to perfection!
Little fact about me, I'm one of those people that don't follow seasonal color rules. The color white is just so refreshing that I wear it all year long. You should try it :-)
I actually bought this fringe handbag from a SoHo boutique last summer while visiting my family in New York City. It came with a long strap that you can wear as a crossbody, but I prefer it without. Looks edgier and more chic with just the short strap.
Hope you all have a CHICstanding day!
(yep just made that up lol)

Surprise Sale: Kate Spade NY
Calling all Kate Spade NY Aficionados!!
Today May 15th only, until 11:59 p.m. Kate Spade New York is having a Surprise Sale. As a fellow Kate Spade girl myself I though it would only be right to share this great deal. This CHIC deal is only online, and all sales are final. Don't despair over the "all sales final" thing, as I assure you I have NEVER had to return anything to Kate Spade New York. I buy...I love it...I keep it :-)
Seriously though...what's cuter than this All Aboard Ship Clutch? at 75% off it's a must for the summer.
This Gold Coast Sierra is a definite CHIC Find with it's quilted texture and classic style. Wear this handbag during any season and make a statement.
The eyes on this All Eyes iPhone case got me! It's giving that "side eye" look that many of us know all too well LOL.
Now this Angie Dress is the definition of Classic CHIC. The sheath style has flattering 3/4 sleeves, with a bodycon fit. Even if you're in a rush in the morning (as most of us are), throw this dress on with a cute belt and some pumps and make a stylish appearance as you take on your day at the office.
This Carousel Bangle Watch is a sleek addition alone, or mix it in with a few of your other bracelets and add to your spring/summer arm candy collection. Of course I got the purple color, but I also love this red one Here
Here's a little fashion trick for ya... Adding a bold statement necklace like this Plaza Athenee necklace, or this Electric Gardens necklace is a CHIC way to spruce up any outfit. Sure it's great with a fancy dress, but through it on with a tee and a pair of your fave jeans and watch your entire look transform. (Trust Me!)
Lastly, but certainly not least, show off that pedicure again in the Ianthe Peep-toe. I love the contrast of the two colors, plus the platform and block heel is MUY BONITA!!!(my Venezuelan grandma would be proud of the little Spanish I threw in there LOL)
There are so many deals at the Kate Spade NY Surprise Sale it was hard to just narrow it down. The clock is ticking, so get in there and scope out some CHIC Finds of your own. Comment on the blog or tag me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and tell me what you got :-)
Have a CHICtastic Day

SUMMER CHIC: STRAPPY SANDALS
Summer is swiftly approaching and is the best season to sport your perfectly pedicured tootsies in sandals. Summer 2013 is all about the strappy sandals! There are so many designers ranging from high to low that have artfully created this footwear that can be worn to any occasion be it fancy or casual. Maybe except your kid's soccer game as I have done #sideEYE LOL (don't judge me). Black strappy sandals can be worn with everything from a party dress to your favorite tee and a pair of comfy jeans. It effortlessly boosts your style (as well as your posture) as you step foot out the door to start your day.
Here are a few CHIC styles that I adore!

MAY FLOWERS
There's just something about the spring that makes me feel so girly and carefree. Atlanta doesn't get what I would call a "real winter" compared to all the freezing winters I've faced in NYC ( I get chills just thinking about it) brrrr. But nonetheless, the colors of the fall/winter seasons are much more subdued with alot of browns, grays, and earth tones Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a full on earth-tone look, but after a few months of walking by window mannequins dressed as such it tends to get boring *insert long yawn here* LOL. The spring is the perfect time to break out your brights, pastels, prints, and florals . like this wrap maxi dress I'm wearing which I found at a thrift store for 1/2 price. The tag said $1.80 (ok catch your breath)!! Yep, a whopping 90 cents was the cost of this vintage 1970's wrap masterpiece. And just to think, I almost left the store that day with nothing after searching through the racks, but on my way out the door I noticed a floral sleeve. At first I thought it was just a blouse until I pulled out the hanger from among a bunch of tightly packed randoms...
and found a little piece of heaven :-)
A wrap dress is one of the most flattering silhouettes on a woman no matter your size or height..it just works!
A picture cannot do this dress any justice! I was drawn to the colors of red, turquoise, orange, and neon pink flowers with tan and bright green stems.
I don't normally wear any makeup as in foundation, concealer etc.. but I do love lip glosses and lipsticks such as the new MAC collaboration with songstress Rihanna called RiRi Woo (sold out in 3hrs) that I'm wearing here. Love the matte red color.
This dress didn't need much accessories, but I did add my "go-to" earring, thin gold hoops for a lil' extra umph! ( LOVE gold hoops, it's the Brooklyn in me lol)
Green is one of my fave colors...(after lavender of course), and I love the way that the green of these strappy heels brings out the greens in the dress as well as the flowers.
Just to think these lovely shoes have been sitting in my closet unworn for TWO years smh..
