There's just something about the spring that makes me feel so girly and carefree. Atlanta doesn't get what I would call a "real winter" compared to all the freezing winters I've faced in NYC ( I get chills just thinking about it) brrrr. But nonetheless, the colors of the fall/winter seasons are much more subdued with alot of browns, grays, and earth tones Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a full on earth-tone look, but after a few months of walking by window mannequins dressed as such it tends to get boring *insert long yawn here* LOL. The spring is the perfect time to break out your brights, pastels, prints, and florals . like this wrap maxi dress I'm wearing which I found at a thrift store for 1/2 price. The tag said $1.80 (ok catch your breath)!! Yep, a whopping 90 cents was the cost of this vintage 1970's wrap masterpiece. And just to think, I almost left the store that day with nothing after searching through the racks, but on my way out the door I noticed a floral sleeve. At first I thought it was just a blouse until I pulled out the hanger from among a bunch of tightly packed randoms...
and found a little piece of heaven :-)
A wrap dress is one of the most flattering silhouettes on a woman no matter your size or height..it just works!
A picture cannot do this dress any justice! I was drawn to the colors of red, turquoise, orange, and neon pink flowers with tan and bright green stems.
I don't normally wear any makeup as in foundation, concealer etc.. but I do love lip glosses and lipsticks such as the new MAC collaboration with songstress Rihanna called RiRi Woo (sold out in 3hrs) that I'm wearing here. Love the matte red color.
This dress didn't need much accessories, but I did add my "go-to" earring, thin gold hoops for a lil' extra umph! ( LOVE gold hoops, it's the Brooklyn in me lol)
Green is one of my fave colors...(after lavender of course), and I love the way that the green of these strappy heels brings out the greens in the dress as well as the flowers.
Just to think these lovely shoes have been sitting in my closet unworn for TWO years smh..
I loved the outfit and that's a great deal...90 cents for an entire dress that doesn't even look vintage!! You did GREAT! and you look it...
