FALL FAHION FORECAST: LEATHER SKIRTS

Hey CHICsters,

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. With the first day of Fall swiftly approaching, September 23rd, change is imminent. It's sun is setting a little earlier. The air is getting a little crisper; and fashion choices are changing. It's time to put away those swimsuits and sandals, and pull out light scarves and jackets.

This season, I've noticed that knee as well as midi length leather skirts are in full force as shown on the designer runways for New York Fashion Week. Some shy away from wearing leather bottoms for fear of looking like umm...let's just say, an 80's streetwalker HA! But au contraire, the new look of leather is chic and classy in the new longer as well as fuller silhouettes. They can be worn throughout the season both day and night and even to work when paired with other classic wardrobe staples such as oxford shirts, or turtlenecks.

Check out three different ways to pull off this look all while looking chic below.

STEP UP YOUR GAME

Hola CHICsters,

I'm soooo glad to be back to working, blogging, and sharing fashion and beauty tips with all of you. Have you seen some of the new trends in footwear for Fall? If not I'll share a few "wearable" looks for you here.

Looking for a new pair of nude pumps for Fall? Well look no further! This patent pair has a 3.25" heel height that's practical for work and it can definitely be worn for happy hour after work. Ya'll know how I love a shoe that I can wear to multiple places.

This aubergine fur slip-ons are a perfect option for a laid back look on the weekends. It is also a comfortable, security check point friendly option for travel as well. I don't know about you all, but unlacing shoes while trying to balance on one leg in a line full of antsy travelers is not my cup of tea. I'd much rather wear something that's easy to slip my feet in and out of in a pinch.

Dear Universe, I don't ever ask for much but these Tom Ford beauties has been on my wish list for a while. Help a girl out...por favor...
Sincerely, Osa
(fingers crossed LOL)

These caged boots would look fierce over a pair of fitted pants or denim. Wear it with some over the knee socks and a skater dress for a fun look.

Well Looky Here!!! I remember wearing sandals with socks and being called "country" but now all of the designers are pairing the combo for Fall 2014.It can be done folks, do not be afraid to step out the box, you's be surprised sat the great looks you come up with.

I love anything leopard print...and so should you! LOL
It's a neutral! Pair it with anything from brights, to neutrals, to prints. I promise you will be amazed at the endless possibilities.

So there you have a few new choices to incorporate into your wardrobe and Step Your Game Up this Fall. New season..new looks...endless possibilities!

Osa

REGULAR MOTIONS

Hola CHICsters,

How was your weekend? Mine was excellent!!! I went to a Caribbean party or "fete" as we call it on Saturday and I had so much fun. WooHoo it feels good to get out and dance and vibe with your friends and family from time to time.

Now that all of my weekend's excitement is over, it's back to my regular motions. Client appointments, shopping, blogging, researching content, and time with my kiddos. But stay tunes for next weekend when I shall be turning up again for Atlanta Caribbean Carnival ..YASSSSS!!!!

This outfit is a good look for This warmer season with these cognac colored leather look shorts.

I paired it with a vintage blouse I got while on another of my Thrift Treasure Hunts for $1.50 #score

Paired it with a chunky green statement necklace and these heels I got from ZARA a few seasons ago. These shoes was such a good buy. Although the heels  are both high and thin, the elastic band straps make them super comfortable. I'm gonna wear these bad boys forever!!!

...now let's get into this clutch!!! This is actually the very first item I ever purchased from a thrift/vintage store 6 years ago...I mean seriously though??? It's oversized, patchwork, and it has one of my fave animals on it...an elephant. I'm so here for this!

I'm kind of late with the leather shorts trend, but I'm loving the ease of them. They can be dressed up or down and will be making a repeat on the blog in the near future, HA!

Do you have a pair of "leather" shorts? How do you rock em'? Tag me on Instagram @chicpantry #CPStyle to show off your look

SHORT SHORTS

Hola CHICsters,

Ankara Tunic: Thrift Store $3 ( why would anyone give this away? ) OMG I'm wearing this alllll summer

Reflective Aviators: Forever 21
Rings & Cuff: H&M
Earrings: Charlotte Russe

Handbag: ZARA (past season)
Suede Wedges: Dolce Vita

Today was a great day; weather was great, afternoon meeting went great...& yes I wore these shorts to the meeting LOL. Usually I wouldn't, but it was with some people that are super laid back & fun. As I stepped in the restaurant we were meeting at, two of the guys stood up & started singing , "We wear short shorts" ...as in the theme from the old Nair commercials. Hilarious! I couldn't do anything but sing along and laugh!

Moments like these makes puts me in a great mood & who doesn't like starting off the week in happy mode?
Life is short...wear the shorts!!!

Mahogany Ish

Today was an extremely long day for me, meetings, interviews, more meetings, lunch at my daughter's school, then another meeting before the kids got home and I have to take off my Blogger Hat and adorn my Super Mom Cape.
I'll tell you a little secret about my dressing routine....there is none! LOL. The only time I pay attention to details of what dress, shoes, or handbag I should wear is if I'm packing for an extended trip. Other than that, I stand in my closet in the wee hours of the morning, still half asleep and just grab stuff and throw it on. Most of the time it works, and the time I'm just not feeling a look I just wear it anyway and pretend I planned to look as such. HAHAHA Own it!

LET IT SNOW

I've only been in Atlanta for a little over a year so I was both shocked and excited to see snow yesterday. Although the city was totally not prepared for ANY of this weather, which caused all of the traffic drama on our highways, I just wanted my Houstonian kids to experience snow for the first time. They loved it!

WINDOW SHOPPER

TGIF CHICsters,

I spent the day shopping..and window shopping for hot new trends as most stores already have there Spring selection available *does happy dance*. Whenever I know I'm going to be on my feet for long periods of time, I always wear comfortable heels, flats, or sneakers...just depending on the outfit. Lately, I've been trying not to wear jeans on Friday as I've overdone in the past. Don't get me wrong...I love a great pair of jeans on "Casual Friday", but do are jeans the only casual attire one can wear? Ummm NO! So this week I switched it up!! Besides, these are one of my fave pair of pants now for two reasons, 1. Duh, do you not see the Fabulous window pane black/white design that's totally trending right now? and 2. These pants are a size 4!!! OMG...for those who follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram know that I changed my eating habits and started a new "clean" lifestyle almost 6-weeks ago, plus I've been hitting the gym 5-6 times a week. When I started my pant size was a 10! Yes I said a 10!!! Now I'm between a 4 or 6 depending on the designer *does ol skool running man* HA!!

IN THE NUDE

Hey there CHICsters,

Hope everyone is enjoying this weekend. The weather here has been so bipolar in Atlanta that one day you can go out with a tee and jeans, the next you need a turtleneck and a fur coat. I don't understand it at all!!! Nonetheless, yesterday was in the 70's here so I took full advantage of it :-)

BROWNIN'

TGIF CHICsters,

Is it me or has this been like the longest week everrrr. It always feels that way after you've been on vacation I guess *shrugs*. I've been playing catch up all week running from meetings, to testing sample pieces for the online store (coming soon), to keeping up with the events of my 10 kids LOL ...or so it seemed. All of this while still under the weather and trying to get rid of this fever UGHHH.

Nonetheless, I don't believe in looking sick even if I am ...

Found this Member's Only jacket at a local thrift store here in Atlanta and snatched it up. It reminds me of when I was a little girl and I had a crush on one of my big brother's friend who had one of these jackets. He was soooo cool...and I was a lil brat in glasses...and a glasses cord *side eye* . LOL all you want, I loved those eye glass cords #Nerd hahaha

Paired the vintage treasure with chocolate over the knee boots, and my trusty Gucci hobo (had it for years) but similar style HERE

I love these chocolate boots, I have them in black as well. Random fact about me, if I LOVE something, I get two of it HA!

The tee was purchased in NYC over the summer from ZARA. Threw on a pair of skinny jeans...as you know I prefer the fit of Joe's Jeans but any pair that fits you well in a medium wash would work the same.

That's it....Hope you all enjoy your weekend and I'm going to try to get as much rest as possible.
While you're relaxing at home, stop by my Facebook page and hit that "LIKE" button...gracias

BOOTED UP

Hola CHICsters *waves*,

Did you miss me? I sure missed you all *pinky swear*. As most of you already know, I'm fresh off a WONDERFUL 10 day vacay in sunny Miami Florida. I was there for Miami Carnival or known to some as Caribbean/American Festival which was last weekend, which is a time where all of the Caribbean islands such as Trinidad, Jamaica, U.S. Virgin Islands, Barbados, and Grenada (just to name a few) all come together to celebrate our lively culture with great music, parties or fetes (as we call it), food, and friends!!! If you have never experienced it ...IT'S A MUST!!! Later this week after I gather up all of the photos from the various events, pictures of all the beautiful costumes I will post them up here on the blog. Until then, it's back to my routine...

From swimsuits to sweaters *sighs* LOL. Although it was about 70 degrees when I came outside, I was still a little chilly because my body was already used to the warmer Miami temp :-(
Although I was slightly cranky that I had to even wear long sleeves, I was excited to pull out these boots that I got from Zara last Fall that I just adore. I love boots in general, and these had a masculine look to them, which is actually trending currently, that made me snatch them up and swipe my card immediately LOL...no hesitation!

The sweater is a Vintage DVF treasure I found while on one of my many thrift store adventures.

These shorts was actually leftovers from the 47 pairs of distressed vintage denim I sold over a 2-day period this summer... (crazy right?). Hmmm maybe I will do a few more pairs, since clearly I'm one of those people that wear shorts year round LOL. That's what tights are for right?

The chocolate suede chain-strap handbag is also a thrifted treasure found in Houston, Texas.

Here's a close look of the details on these boots...LOVE 'EM!!!!

The back of the boot has a little stretch which is great for people with larger calf muscles, like yours truly *side eye*

Well I hope you enjoyed this post CHICsters, showing another way to transition some of your summer pieces through the cooler months.

Enjoy your week
xoxo,
Osa
