Happy New Years to you all! I will be back from my much needed hiatus with regular posting starting the beginning next week..Yayyyyy:-)

This New Year I have no resolutions...no unrealistic expectations. No I'm going to hit the gym extra hard....no I'm gonna save X amount of money by a certain date.This year I just vow to be happy, so whatever that takes is what I will continue to do ;-)

Hola CHICsters, 

I'm finally back to blogging after a longgggg hiatus. I have so many great Fall/Winter clothing to share with you as well as styling & beauty tips. The air was so crisp today here in Atlanta, and as I've shared with you all before Autumn is my fave season. If it's too hot...and I'm not at a beach or somewhere tropical, I'm not about that "sweating for no reason" life :-)

This is what I wore today & it encompasses a few of my faves Fall/Winter must haves; leather pants, black turtlenecks, over the knee boots, & camel colored coats ( this one was a steal from H&M for only $29.99) *gasp*

The Midi skirt is still on trend as the season transitions from Summer to Fall. I particularly am drawn to the length of the skirt because it instantly gives you a more ladylike and chic appearance ...which we love.  The wine color of the skirt is a classic color for the season so expect to see tons of it in stores. Most of you all that either follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook know that I've been totally sick the past few weeks. This epilepsy crap is for the birds!!! 12 seizures in a 10 day span but I think they finally have it under control. 

MOR FUN FLORALS

 

Good Morning CHICsters, 

My summer in NYC has been hectic with tons of parties, events, meetings etc...so much so that my body said "pump your brakes" the day before & I was super sick. After a few hours of rest the show went on as I attended MOR, one of the hottest caribbean events of the summer. 

Yesterday was a scorcher in the city. It was one of those days where you felt like wearing less clothing but just the thought alone of the sun touching your skin is unbearable. 

I chose this floral skater dress which has large scaled white flowers with bright green leaves on a baby pink background. 

This dress actually has a low cut back and a high neckline, but I wouldn't be me  if I didn't alter it a bit. I'm wearing the dress backwards, LOL... Low cut in the front just takes the little summer dress up a notch. 

The comfiest lace up sandals from Sole Society, paired with a simple Kate Spade watch, and vintage earrings & clutch tied the entire look together. 

 

Total cost (sans shoes) = $19

This just goes to show why I always say, You don't have to spend a million to look like one

SUMMER ESSENTIALS 2014

Hey There CHICsters, 

With today being the first day of Summer, I

thought it would be only right to list a few 

of the season's must-haves.

With the heat and humidity that comes with Summer weather, there are some wardrobe necessities that everyone needs to look hot ...without feeling hot :-) 

1. A maxi dress -perfect for both laid back days when you just want to lounge around in flip flops, and can also be worn with heels or wedge sandals for a night out. 

2. Denim cut offs- great for the beach, or with a cute top, sandals or sneakers

3. A Fedora- this classic straw hat is essential to keep the sun out of your face on those scorching days as well as hide your bad hair days, which I have often in the summer ...#NaturalHair struggles lol

4. Nail Polish- count on ESSIE to come out with bright, fresh colors every summer to put some pep into your basic mani/pedi routine. If your career doesn't allow for a bright colored mani, try doing it on your toes. The moment you step out of those work pumps and see some neon, or hot pink toes looking back at you I promise it'll put a smile on your face. 

5. White handbag- Self explanatory!! Lol ...It's the freshest color bag for summer whether it's a cross body, clutch or tote.

6. Sunglasses- Duh!!! A MUST HAVE for the weather. Get a pair with UV protection to bar the suns harmful rays & while you're doing that try a pair with a colored lens...very on trend this season. 

7. Swimwear- last but certainly not least it's finally time to show off that beach body you've been working on all summer. But if you've been kind of a slacker like me *hides face*, there are tons on great one piece options out there that doesn't look like they belong on your 80yr old Grandma. Try one!

Hola CHICsters,

Sorry for the delayed posting but my life has been super busy. It started off with a spur of the moment trip back to my hometown Brooklyn,NY for a surprise birthday party for my mom....thennnnn it was my birthday, WooHoo, and yesterday was my daughter's Bday so I literally had nooooo rest the last couple weeks or time to blog like I'd really want to. BUTTTTT....all of that's done, so now it's back to business! 

Yesterday I had tons of running around to do for my daughter's birthday,plus it was a little on the warm side so I opted to be as comfortable as possible.

I paired this Royal Blue tank from Old Navy, with a pair of tribal pants, and my

knock around Steve Madden bow flip flops that everybody bought when they first came out. 

A lightweight colorful pant is on trend for this summer & can either be worn with a solid colored top, or another mixed print IF you know how to mix your prints properly.

If not then ummmm...stick to solids LOL.

....an easy summer look for you to pull off 

And most importantly, a very happy 7 year old :-)

REGULAR MOTIONS

Hola CHICsters, 

How was your weekend? Mine was excellent!!! I went to a Caribbean party or "fete" as we call it on Saturday and I had so much fun. WooHoo it feels good to get out and dance and vibe with your friends and family from time to time. 

 

Now that all of my weekend's excitement is over, it's back to my regular motions. Client appointments, shopping, blogging, researching content, and time with my kiddos. But stay tunes for next weekend when I shall be turning up again for Atlanta Caribbean Carnival ..YASSSSS!!!! 

This outfit is a good look for This warmer season with these cognac colored leather look shorts. 

I paired it with a vintage blouse I got while on another of my Thrift Treasure Hunts for $1.50 #score

Paired it with a chunky green statement necklace and these heels I got from ZARA a few seasons ago. These shoes was such a good buy. Although the heels  are both high and thin, the elastic band straps make them super comfortable. I'm gonna wear these bad boys forever!!! 

...now let's get into this clutch!!! This is actually the very first item I ever purchased from a thrift/vintage store 6 years ago...I mean seriously though??? It's oversized, patchwork, and it has one of my fave animals on it...an elephant. I'm so here for this! 

I'm kind of late with the leather shorts trend, but I'm loving the ease of them. They can be dressed up or down and will be making a repeat on the blog in the near future, HA!

APRIL

Hello CHICsters, 

Can you believe April has come and gone so quickly? I was so busy this month it just seemed to fly by. This post features all of my APRIL looks & fashion inspiration. Which one was your fave? 

These looks went from casual, to boho chic, to ladylike, to retro and everywhere in between LOL. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason behind my style other than I wear what works depending on how I feel, & clearly from the looks of it my inspiration is all over the place :-)

MAMA-CITA

As many of you already know because I tweeted about it as well as posted it on Instagram & Facebook, my son turned 16 yesterday. Ughhhhh!!! 16??? I'm still in shock. I just had this baby & now he's like "Mom I'm getting my license so I can drive your truck" *side eye* ...pump your brakes homeboy lol. 

This is my baby...all 6ft of him *tear* 

I wore this I LOVE RONSON brand jumpsuit to host his party at Dave & Busters. I wanted to be comfortable...but not too "Mom-ISH" if you understand what I mean. No offense to the moms that wear gym attire on their off days even when not at the gym ...but I ain't 'bout that life! LOL 

Many of you know that I'm half Hispanic..and in our culture when we see a well dressed woman or someone with great feminine appeal, men especially would call out and sayyyy "Ayeeee Mamacita!" Lol 

That's more of how I feel in this role of motherhood. I will be assistant coach of my daughter's soccer team, but never look like a "soccer mom". I will be at ever football game, basketball game and track meet my kids have but will never be in a head to to sweatsuit unless Vogue says it's cool LOL. 

Having kids should never stop your swag ;-) 

*sigh* these little people melt my heart!
