Ladies, trust me when I tell you that you don't need to go out and overhaul your entire closet every season. I don't know who has the time or money to do all of that because I sure don't. All you need to update your look are a few key pieces such as a statement necklace, or earrings, a sleek pair of boots, and a Bordeaux mani to name a few and you will be having heads doing double takes when you walk out the door.

FALL FAHION FORECAST: LEATHER SKIRTS
Hey CHICsters,
Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. With the first day of Fall swiftly approaching, September 23rd, change is imminent. It's sun is setting a little earlier. The air is getting a little crisper; and fashion choices are changing. It's time to put away those swimsuits and sandals, and pull out light scarves and jackets.
This season, I've noticed that knee as well as midi length leather skirts are in full force as shown on the designer runways for New York Fashion Week. Some shy away from wearing leather bottoms for fear of looking like umm...let's just say, an 80's streetwalker HA! But au contraire, the new look of leather is chic and classy in the new longer as well as fuller silhouettes. They can be worn throughout the season both day and night and even to work when paired with other classic wardrobe staples such as oxford shirts, or turtlenecks.
Check out three different ways to pull off this look all while looking chic below.

SUMMER ESSENTIALS 2014

With today being the first day of Summer, I
thought it would be only right to list a few
With the heat and humidity that comes with Summer weather, there are some wardrobe necessities that everyone needs to look hot ...without feeling hot :-)
1. A maxi dress -perfect for both laid back days when you just want to lounge around in flip flops, and can also be worn with heels or wedge sandals for a night out.
2. Denim cut offs- great for the beach, or with a cute top, sandals or sneakers
3. A Fedora- this classic straw hat is essential to keep the sun out of your face on those scorching days as well as hide your bad hair days, which I have often in the summer ...#NaturalHair struggles lol
4. Nail Polish- count on ESSIE to come out with bright, fresh colors every summer to put some pep into your basic mani/pedi routine. If your career doesn't allow for a bright colored mani, try doing it on your toes. The moment you step out of those work pumps and see some neon, or hot pink toes looking back at you I promise it'll put a smile on your face.
5. White handbag- Self explanatory!! Lol ...It's the freshest color bag for summer whether it's a cross body, clutch or tote.
6. Sunglasses- Duh!!! A MUST HAVE for the weather. Get a pair with UV protection to bar the suns harmful rays & while you're doing that try a pair with a colored lens...very on trend this season.
7. Swimwear- last but certainly not least it's finally time to show off that beach body you've been working on all summer. But if you've been kind of a slacker like me *hides face*, there are tons on great one piece options out there that doesn't look like they belong on your 80yr old Grandma. Try one!

4 WAYS TO STYLE DENIM

It's no secret how fond I am of denim. It just seems to go with EVERYTHING (in my opinion) LOL. You can dress it up and down depending on the occasion or how you're feeling at the moment. I particularly like to pair it with a bright skirt, or a denim pencil skirt like the popular look Celebrity Rihanna wore, or even a hot pair of leather shorts and some heels to spice up a night look. Denim is Everything!!! Try it and tell me how you style your denim this season.

Howdy CHICsters, (LOL that reminds me of my time living in Houston Texas)
Spring is the perfect time to refresh your classic with bright invigorationg colors like lime, hot pink, yellow, and cobalt blue and I love to do this with my outerwear. The colors of this MOTO jacket and Trench are the perfect contrast to this black & white collared dress. PLAYFUL POLKA DOT pumps add flair to a look that can be worn to both the office as well as after work activities such as dinner and drinks at your fave restaurant. Either way, this look is sure to turn heads in a major way ;-)

SPRING FEVER
Hey CHICsters,
Spring has sprung...finally!!! Time to move all of that winter gear and darker colors to the back of your closet and bring forth all the pretty pastels, and vibrant colors of the new season. Today's featured look is super easy to pull together and can be worn to work, pairing it with a classic cardigan or blazer and keeping everything else the same. Today is Friday, and I don't know about ya'll but by the end of the week my hair has had it so a sleek top bun is an effortless way to look chic while not spending too much time "fixing" my hair.
When wearing a statement necklace, I usually opt for either studs or no earrings at all since the necklace is already a powerful piece. Don't be that person with the statement necklace, chandelier earrings and an arm full of bangles, #NoBueno LOL
Don't you just love lemon yellows and powder blues together? Soooo soothing :-)

DATE NIGHT: Valentine's Day
Hola CHICsters,
With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, Friday February 14th, I've been getting tons of questions via email about outfit suggestions for date night. Don't worry your pretty little heads...I'm here for you :-)
My only tip for all of you will be this, I don't care if this is a first date, or one with your husband or significant other that you've been with for years, DRESS UP!!!! Yes I just shouted that. Leave a lasting impression on them. Look so good that then they close their eyes that night before dozing into dreamland they think, "Dang She did that!!!" And this is my tip not just for this date but any others, carry and present yourself they way you want to be treated and addressed. LOOK like someone he will want to open the car door for, or pull out the chair. Smell like the prettiest scent they have ever whiffed, and carry yourself like you know you are the bomb.com and can't nobody tell you different. Got that? Now on Saturday the 15th I expect to see smiling faces, and happy tweets and messages about how good you felt dressing up.

Peter Pilotto for TARGET
Hey there CHICsters, I just wanted to quickly pop in to share with you all or remind you if you heard about it earlier this year, tomorrow February 9th is the day Target stores will be selling their line of Peter Pilotto for TARGET! I love designer collaborations & this one is epic for the girl that is big on mixed prints and bright graphics. There will be everything in the line from blazers, dresses, and slacks to handbags, sneakers, and swimwear which is a first for the designer. Stores open at 8:00 tomorrow morning and if you want to get the best selection, as if you're familiar with past designer/Target collabos, if you stroll in there in the afternoon thinking you're going to find something in your size...chances are you will be out of luck. So eat a great breakfast, grab a cup of coffee or green tea and get there early!!! Don't say I didn't warn you :-)
